Dudeser
Hi! I'm looking to buy a good Chubutensis tooth, and I came across this online. It's listed by a seller with a very good reputation, but I know that Megalodon teeth are often mistaken for Chubutensis teeth. I'd therefore like to have some seasoned shark tooth collectors help verify the ID of this tooth (I always like to double-check ) Note: It was found in South Carolina. Thanks in advance! Darktooth
Here is my 2 cents. There does not appear to be cusps, even though there are cracks located approximately where cusps would be present in a chub. These cracks give the illusion of actual cusps being present. This is quite common. My feeling is that this is in fact, a meg. 1 I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.
