I think we paid but I always thought it was a state park or something. I collected fossil leaves like the attached. Does anyone know the spot? grandpa Posted February 2, 2020 Share Posted February 2, 2020 Likely Florissant, Co. There's a National Monument and also a private quarry near-by where one can hunt for a fee. FossilDAWG Posted February 2, 2020 Share Posted February 2, 2020 There is a major plant fossil site at Castle Rock, close to the interstate, but it is an important research site and off limits now. It may have been accessible when you were a kid. However if it was a park (or near a park) and you paid, grandpa is probably right and you were at Florissant.
