Paleo1984
Hello, all! I was wondering if anyone could help me identify this bone I found. It seems to be fossilized (feels like stone and is very heavy for its size). I found it on the shore near Wilmington NC. Any guesses? Micah
It looks like it’s from a terrestrial mammal to me.? I know nothing of marine mammals, but if I’m remembering correctly from posts I’ve read on here, the (comparatively) shorter/wider/denser bones tend to be marine mammals...? Better ask the Mammal expert. @Harry Pristis?
