Becky Benfer
I picked this up because it was so unlike all the others in the same area. Each side seems so different. Was wondering if someone would explain what this rock is please? There are things coming out of it and holes where it looks like something may have laid in. Appreciate any information. Fossildude19
I don't believe this is a fossil, unfortunately. I'm just seeing breakage and water erosion. Sometimes, some minerals in a rock are less dense than the rest of the rock, and may wear away more quickly. Maybe this is part of a chert or dolostone nodule. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Pagurus
I don't see a fossil either. It looks like the tale of geological forces bringing different minerals together and then wearing them away and tearing them apart. It's a dynamic world we live in. 1 Start the day with a smile and get it over with.
