Zenmaster6
I was worried I might be visited by the fabled chunk-o-saur. I was hoping I could get it down to cetacean or pinniped from the blood vessel shape but I guess I was just dreaming Thanks both of you. Possible whale finger bone? B_Juice
Looks familiar! I thought this piece was tentatively teredo wood based on similar specimens I’ve found, but I’ve never seen this much agatization and preservation of structure. Bone hadn’t occurred to me! I just put a little end polish on it to get a better look. The inside of the “cells” also fluoresces green with UV excitation.
