Ammonites from the Inferior Oolite of Dorset

A few of my ammonites collected from the Inferior Oolite at both coastal and inland quarry sites in Dorset, UK.

Nice stuff! You seem to have something from a lot of different zones. Any Callovian ones?

Yes, there's a fair mix of zones here. All labelled though, so I don't get confused! I have  quite a number of Callovian from the Oxford Clay Formation in the Weymouth area - Stewartby Member (Callovian) and adjacent Weymouth Member (Oxfordian).

it's actually Procerites lenthayensis Arkell., a transient form from Procerites to Homeoplanulites, from the Zigzag Bed 9lower Bathonian) of Burton Bradstock.

Not at all. I had it as Homeoplanulites myself until I was corrected by somebody who knows far more!

I only collect ammonites from the Superior Oolite.    I'm just too snooty to keep the "Inferior" ones!

Used to be called the Under Oolite as it underlies the Great Oolite. 

Which is nice.
