garyc
I was browsing through some past finds and came across these 2 teeth that I had placed with deer material. Just wondering if there’s any chance that these are actually llama teeth?

Spoons
Picture is from the mandible of a modern day llama. Your teeth look similar to the molars pictured below: At this point, I’d be willing to suggest that your teeth are probably from sort of camelid. I am by no means an expert, and more members should throw in their two cents before we actually make a diagnosis.

fossilus
No problem! I wish I could have given you a good shot of the crown surface but I've never cleaned the sandstone off.
garyc
I keep looking for more references About how to distinguish Camelid teeth from deer teeth, but the only thing I can find says camel/ llama teeth are bigger
fossilus
From what I've seen, deer teeth have a lower crown and a "bump" between the lobes. Camelid teeth are smooth to the root.
