Hi everyone

Last Thursday I went to visit the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences in Brussels as a little pre-birthday trip.
I have visited this museum several times in the past few years, but this time I took my camera with me and thought it might be fun to do a photo tour of the museum for this forum :)
Beware, this will be quite a big topic that might take a few days to complete as I took nearly 750 photo's in the museum (a lot will have to be sorted out though due to blurry quality, photo's of only name tags and doubles) as I wanted to show pretty much all fossil displays :)
Especially the Hall of the Dinosaurs, the hall of the Mosasaurs & The Hall of Evolution will be quite complete tours :)

Starting off with some snapshots of the hall of the minerals.

Those minerals look good :)

I'm really looking forward to the Hall of Mosasaurs...

Opalised fossils are the best: a wonderful mix between paleontology and mineralogy!

Q. Where do dinosaurs study?

A. At Khaan Academy!...

But I'll start off with the finds from the iguanodon mine in Bernissart (Belgium).

The next fossils are all part of the fauna & flora that were found alongside the famous Iguanodons.

The holotype of Bernissartia fagesii, one of the smallest crocodyliforms that ever lived.

The fishes of Bernissart:

1) Coccolepis macropterus

2) Lepidotes bernissartensis

3) Macromesodon bernissartensis

4) Callopterus insignis

5) Amiopsis dolloi

6) Aethalionopsis robustus

Thank you for the correction, wasn't really sure which one of the two it was. :)

Anatotitan is an old invalid name for Edmontosaurus. There seems to be an Edmontosaurus skull behind the Amurosaurus skeleton. So it probably refers to that.

Yepp, still a lot more to come :D
Not yet, was kinda expecting it though, but apparently not yet.
Unfortunatly I can't go to BePaleo, I was kinda excited when I read about it, but kinda bummed that it falls on the weekend of Elfia in Haarzuilens. I already promised Elise that we would go together, kinda our tradition. :)
