And one of the highlights as well as the main reason for my visit to the museum, the temporary exhibit of Allosaurus Arkhane, a new undescribed Allosaurus species.

Found in Barnum-Kaycee, Morrison Formation, Wyoming, USA (Jurassic, 155 mya), 8,7 meters long and for 70 % complete.

And that was it folks, it took nearly a week, but it came to it's end, a tour of the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences by ziggycardon!
I hoped you all enjoyed the tour, thank you all for the kind reactions! :)
Here are my last snapshots for the taxidermy collection at the end of the Gallery of Evolution.

Wow... and I thought it was a pain to post 20 or 30 pics.

I'm always surprised at the diversity of stuff a single museum can have, from so many locations around the world. How did they get their Burgess Shale material, for instance? Of course a lot of those are casts, but not all(?) (Some of those cases seems rather sparsely populated too - I think they could have saved some space by concentrating them somewhat).

Anyway, thanks for the tour!

Hahaha jepp, I was fun to share, but since I had to upload all the pictures to lunapic, to then crop them and to then upload them here. I sometimes said to myself, what the hell did I get myself into now :D
But it was a fun project, I am happy to have shared this museum with people who might never have the chance to visit. :)

As for the Burgess Shale material, I believe they recieved most of it from the Royal Ontario Museum.
But yes, they could be more space efficient if they want with the displays.

More space-efficient means more room for other items that they might otherwise keep in the storage rooms!

The ROM is distributing Burgess fossils? The RBCM here in Victoria could use more! This is the extent of their Burgess collection, you might have seen this pic before:
