Seed Pod #5, Cardiocarpon

Recommended Posts

Here is #5 in my seed pod ID verification request effort.  It was listed as Cardiocarpon rare seed fossils, Carboniferous, Upper Silesia, Westphalian "C", Poland.  It contains two seed pods.  Is this description correct?

Think the info for this one is more or less correct - Cardiocarpus sp. seed - named for its "heart-like" shape. The "C" after Westphalian denotes a regionoal substage, the "Westphalian C" = Bolsovian.

Thank you Paleoflor for the ID confirmation.  I only had 1 out of 5 seed pod specimens correctly labeled, but at least I had one!  Two of the others were reassigned to other categories/species and overall I'm pleased with the results.
