Strange shell ? ID help .

I found that shell today on my local beach. I hope to know its kind and epoch . it is 6.5 cm tall and 4.5 cm wid and many thanks in advance .

Looks like some sort of oyster. 

Doubt it's possible to ascertain the age or species.

thanks , I found that similar : Catinula sp., a type of small fossil oyster

could be wrong I do not know
