Ammonite plate - real or fake

Hello!

i posted a different real or fake question earlier (brittle starfish) and was told It was fake and to keep looking for other gifts. It was suggested that it’s better to be safe than sorry and to post other items I’m interested in. Since i really appreciated the input last time, I’m here to ask again :)

This time it’s a zoom in of an ammonite slab (holzmaden shale from Germany). It looks real to me but I just wanted to check. Thanks for all the help in gift searching!!

Those look like some nice ones. Your friend should be pleased.

I have a plate of them myself.

And as common as sand on a beach, so who could be bothered to fake them? :)

Maybe common as sand to you in Germany, but not in other parts of the world! Just like those big trilobites in Morroco....maybe common there but unusual for say....Texas.
