fossilsonwheels
As we work on our new displays I have found a few shark teeth that I need to verify an ID for. These are all from STH. First up is one I am fairly certain is Isurus desori. A little over .5”
fossilsonwheels
This one has me pretty confused. I studied examples from a few sources, including Elasmo, and I’m stumped on this little one. In the first picture it looks like there might be a nutrient groove but it doesn’t have one. I think it is a Lamniformes of sort. After looking at Elasmo, I thought Isurus retroflexus but that seems a long shot. More likely a small hastalis perhaps. A little under half an inch. fossilsonwheels
I originally thought upper Hexanchus on this but I don’t really know. A broken Physogaleus was suggested too. Proved difficult to get decent pictures so I may try at work tomorrow. About .75”
fossilsonwheels
Another that I originally thought upper Hexanchus but I think broken Physogaleus.
fossilsonwheels
I’m not sure there is enough to get an ID. A small partial. Another I thought might be Hexanchus but I have no clue on this one.
fossilsonwheels
One I thought was a desori but now I am thinking small hastalis. I do know I love the color on this one.

fossilsonwheels
Last one for now, I think lower Planus on this one. A hair over 1”
FossilsAnonymous
I think your IDs are right on the money. I love that brown hastalis! On The Hunt For The Trophy Otodus!
JBMugu
Here are my guesses 1. Im thinking small lower hastalis 2. symphyseal hastalis or planus 3. Physogaleus 4. Physogaleus 5. Hexanchus 6. Small Upper Hastalis 7. Lower Planus If you need any specific teeth for your displays, I can provide better examples except for megs and benidinis
fossilsonwheels
Hi Jesse I was pretty sure #1 was a Desori but I’ll trust your opinion. A symphseal would explain the small size. Benedini has never been on the list and I am waiting until my kids are done with college to pursue an STH Meg as I’ve seen the prices lol I am am going to take you up on your offer lol I will PM you. I had been looking into making some STH improvements for the displays. Kurt
