New remains of a large Ichthyosaur from the Lower Jurassic of the Atacama Desert have been described. The fossils although fragmented, consist of dentary and rostrum remains and at least 11 teeth. The remains are assigned to Temnodontosaurus sp due to the similarities. It is the first marine macropredator in the Lower Jurassic of Northern Chile and the first example of the genus in the southern hemisphere
