What is your opinion on its classification and if so is the material we have sufficient enough to make it a distinct taxon?

It appears to be a fairly common practice over the years to name a new species to science from one or two isolated fossil bones.

The main criteria appears to be that those fossils are distinct enough to name to a taxon that has not already been described from that area.

The problem then is when someone then finds a fairly complete specimen with that particular bone missing it can only be described as a species from that taxon and it may be a new species.

Ash

It’s a terrible practice that needs to be canned.

Too many people trying to get their name on things..
