bencoulter
Recently stumbled across this, possible, fossil in Capitola Beach, CA. I found an assortment of fossilized shells but was unsure of this find. Anyways, I’m new to fossil hunting and don’t have an exceeding amount of experience, so any knowledge regarding what this could possibly be would be helpful. Thanks! Rockwood
Bivalve would seem like a reasonable assumption. It's not a clear identification though.
Mark Kmiecik
Yeah, this one is a tough call from just that one photo, and I'm not certain that additional photos would help. We can try, but some specimens just end up being a lost cause. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
GeschWhat
Interesting. I would try prepping it. You could try scraping away some of the matrix with an X-acto blade. Lori www.areallycrappystory.com/fossils www.facebook.com/fossilpoo
