Bev
Ordovician Maquoketa Shale SE Minnesota I believe I see a Flexicalymene sp. trilobite and a whole lot more pieces of trilobites. Hence I'm including Caleb's trilo ID rock for reference. I thought if I could get a confirmation or two I would post this hunt as it was a beautiful day in early March to fossil hunt. :-) Well, I guess this will be multiple replies as I don't want to reduce the images where you can't see all the parts. :-) The more I learn, I realize the less I know. Pterygotus
I know close to nothing about trilobites but I don't really see any. All I see are brachiopods and such. I'm probably wrong though .
Jackson g
I see some trilo bits. A thorax segment on the right, and what looks like it might be a piece of a cephalon on the left of photo.

minnbuckeye
Bev, did Spring Valley miss the winter snow storms? I look out my window and see nothing but white, even after our warmth of the past 3 days. Maybe I need to explore to the south. By the way, nice trilo hash plate!! I would guess flexi without further prep. All of the south-facing road cuts are bare. It was so beautiful yesterday, I couldn't help but stop coming home with a load of 4x6s. This rock came from the cut just east of Rifle Hill which is completely accessible. I had a family stop and pickup all three of my maps yesterday and that gave me a nudge to hunt myself. :-) I put this up, just to see if I was missing anything before I took the time to do a fossil hunt post. :-) The more I learn, I realize the less I know.
