Fossil-Collecter
I recently found this mammal tooth along Peace River in Florida. It is just the cap of the tooth with no root present. I'm having trouble identifying it and was hoping someone would recognize the tooth and what animal it may have come from.
Harry Pristis
How about an image of the "root" side of the object. This appears to me to be an epiphysis from a bone. 3 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
Fossil-Collecter
Here's the root side. It's smooth in the middle with bone marrow on the edge.
Harry Pristis
I think it's the epiphysis from a distal tibia of a deer. See if you have a deer astragalus that fits. 4 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
