Dominican Republic fossil hunting

dinosaur man

Recommended Posts

I have been on vacation for the past week and still am, at Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I have found some pretty interesting specimens when walking on the beach or around the resort. Everything from a possible fossilized crab claw, fossil shells, cool minerals and possible fossilized plant roots, from the

Quaternary period. Here is the area I found the fossils, and the fossils them selves!!

On the Right is one of the areas I found a lot of this stuff in a sandy part behind this palm tree. In the photo are my brother and cousin.

The claw has not yet been comfirmed as a fossil. These, as well, may also be modern coral that regularly wash up on the beach.

By the look of those Palm trees in your dusk pictures it seems to be very windy there. :o
