Klove
Any help identifying these bones would be appreciated. I found these in Northern Middle TN about a mile from the Cumberland River. They were laying in a creek close to a spring that feeds into it.
Rockwood
I think I can get it started with vertebra.
fossilus
The lower one looks like an axis vertebrae, probably from a cow or horse sized animal.
Klove
Thanks guys.. Do you feel like these bones could be prehistoric? I can’t find any pictures that look exactly like it..
Kane
I would perform the burn test to see if there is collagen present (if so, then likely modern bone). This will be a better diagnostic than colouration alone given that bones can get discoloured fairly quickly in water. 1 ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer
Klove
I did the burn test and no smell but knowing my luck it’s a cow haha.. I mainly look for artifacts so fossils are fairly new besides what Fossilized sharks teeth I have sifted up.. I do see that there are cut marks or teeth marks on the vertebrae.. thanks for the responses

If the one above it is also a vertebra between us we have vertebrae correct ?
