History lover
So my some found this piece of fossilized bone. Now to me this looks off a little bit, but I’m not sure so I figured I’d ask. This bone has what appear to be small cut marks on it. Any feedback would help. Thank you.
Rockwood
I'm not qualified to give the final word, but I can see this representing a shark bitten turtle.
Bone Daddy
If you are referring to the three parallel incisions on the specimen that are visible on the right-hand side in the photo, then I agree that those might be predation marks or scavenger marks. I'm not a professional, so take that with a grain of salt. Some marks on bones and scutes could be just random damage from a number of sources other than predators, but when you see parallel, evenly-spaced markings like that, then there is a good chance those are from teeth.
