Shellseeker
When I first found this tooth, I paused. Many times I have stated that horizontal banding in the Peace River means one thing--- marine mammal, likely whale. This tooth is very small, could be something like Aulophyseter, but I am no longer so sure. Decided to see if others recognize this tooth. 1 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
Shellseeker
Every once in a while I find one of these: Usually do not come to specific ID. I am thinking of tossing this new addition into my "small marine mammal bowl" The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
Harry Pristis
It probably didn't have peg teeth, Jack. Here's one I found rummaging in storage today: http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
Harry Pristis
Whoops! I found another tooth with a wear facet and a point in my surplus boxes today. This one has the cementum/dentine wrapper more-or-less intact. 2 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
