New Dromaeosaurid from New Mexico

A new domaeosaurid, Dineobellator notohesperus,  consisting of a partial skeleton from the Upper Cretaceous (Maastrichtian) of New Mexico, the first diagnostic dromaeosaurid to be recovered from the latest Cretaceous of the southern United States. The holotype includes elements of the skull, axial, and appendicular skeleton. From the Ojo Alamo Formation

That's a cool paper. However, the Dineobellator cladistic analysis rejects the phylogenetic placement of Dakoraptor as an unenlagiine by Scott Hartmann and colleagues in their paper on Hesperornithoides, even though it does partly agree with Hartmann et al. in recovering Unenlagiinae and Halszkaraptorinae as basal to other dromaeosaurids. Nonetheless, Dineobellator is yet another addition to an emerging club of late Edmontonian-Lancian dromaeosaurs from North America,  because until 2013 Atrociraptor was the only North American dromaeosaurid known from Maastrichtian deposits.
