A couple of STH ID’s needed

As I’ve gone through the donation of STH material we received, I have found a couple of shark teeth that I can not ID.

My picture capability is limited to my phone so I apologize for picture quality.

I thought the first tooth looks something like a Hemipristis symphyseal tooth but I could be off base. It appears to be a complete tooth as I see no evidence of the root being broken.

I found two teeth that fit the morphology of this tooth, the second is quite a bit smaller than this one. I at first thought Hexanchus upper but I have backed off of that ID.

Whatever it is, they are interesting teeth.

This one looks like Physogaleus contortus.

I have no clue on this one. Looks somewhat similar to the Hemipristis above but I don’t know if that is correct.

It looks like another Hemipristis anterior tooth.

Here is one that needs ID help. From the micro matrix. Just about .25” . No serrations

Looks nothing like the smaller ground shark teeth I found. Doesn’t look like any of the other small teeth I found.

It looks like Alopias. Unusual for that locality.

Awesome. Thank you. This was the one tooth I found that I thought might be Alopias.

A few micro teeth that I can use some help with. These are the three that are just different enough from the rest to require some help.

First up. 2mm or possibly a touch smaller. The root looks quite a bit different than the Triakis teeth I found. That is what is throwing me. I have compared it all the other Triakis and Galeorhinus I found and this one stood out.

Best pictures I can get for now.

Two other tiny teeth I need some help with.

Both are 2-3mm. The orange-ish tooth on the right has very different roots than any other tooth I found. Not sure what the proper term is but it has projections on the roots, visible in the pic. They look like little feet lol

The gray tooth on the left also looked different enough from the Triakis teeth for me to seek some help. The cusps just look a little different and so does what you can see of the root. It has some matrix stuck on it.

That looks like a Triakis anterior or perhaps parasymphsyeal tooth.

Awesome. Thank you Jess. I ended up finding some cool positional teeth among the micros. I noticed a few variations to the Galeorhinus teeth.
