Heavy Mystery...

What’s heavy, smooth and rounded on one side and with wavy channels on the other?  I have no idea either, but I dug it out of the hill behind my house. Found among fossil palm wood, fishy bits, and shale. Partially exposed in dirt on the side of a hill. I found another smaller, broken piece with the same cross section profile and the two dissimilar surfaces on either side. 
 

North Georgia, Walker county, USA. 10 minutes south of Chattanooga. Nice view of Lookout Mountain too for all you Civil War buffs.

I see rocks, rocks and more rocks, some with sedimentary structures, some with weathering, some with mineral veining or coating.  What I don’t see are any fossils. I am no expert on fossil wood though, so if someone with more knowledge of the local geology or fossils wants to confirm that one or more of these are fossil wood, I will consider myself educated. Keep looking, looks like you have plenty of rocks and a nice view!

I agree that this is one for a geologist to explain. I'm not seeing fossil.

I wouldn't rule out the slim possibility that this is fossilized wood yet, although I am also no expert on the subject. I don't see any signs of grain, so we would need some more close-ups of the surfaces for the experts to be able to judge.
