Is this even a fossil?

Hello, I found this, already cracked in a field in Northamptonshire, UK. It has a strange pattern on the outside and a streak of orange inside. Sorry for the bad photo quality.

Better lit, close up photos might help.  But, right now it looks like a concretion to me.

Then someone was probably working on it in the hopes of finding a fossil and then threw it away when he saw that there was nothing in it.
