Bartonian molluscs and urchins

Hi everybody, i'd like to lighted by your opinions on those Bartonian fossils from Blaye on the estuary of the Gironde.

Firstly, those urchins. Blaye is a place where exist endemic urchins. I made a little research on myself and found some names.

 

Echinolampas burdigalensis ? (maybe sismondia for the upper one ?)

3) Echinolampas stellifera ?

 

Those gastropods : 

Olividea ?

Olivancillaria ? Terebellum ?

 

Bivalves :

Tellinidae ? Arcopagia for the one in the middle ?

To big for Sismondia. All are Echinolampas. For the species, you can clean them a lot.

E.stellifera is very high. Not like here

Thank you Dominique, it's hard to clean them with the tools i have without risking scratching them. But i think i can do more.

Do you think a bit of diluted vinegar can be useful for those urchins also ?

Yes, vinegar can help you. But you must reduce gangue as much as possible

Before anyone else asks....fortunatley, both of these folks are French so they understand that 'gangue' is French for 'matrix'.

Yes, you're right, matrix can be translated by matrice which has a sense somehow maternal : of reproduction and/or creation. For example in the sentence : "Moulds are used to copy imprints of fossils" would be translated by : "C'est avec une matrice que l'on reproduit une empreinte de fossile".

The world "gangue" means, concerning stones, you're speaking about something without value that wrap something of value.

I've cleaned the urchins a bit more with vinegar and here they are :

1) burdigalensis ?

2) If someone knows how to get rid off that black color i'll be glad. I'd say burdigalensis for this one

 

3) I thought this one would be in a better state, ovalis ?

I tried it, but the result is not good for now. Maybe should i try again. If you see the previous photo of that urchin, the matrix on it wasn't black at all, it became black with the vinegar, what do you think caused this reaction ?
