BudB
I visited the North Sulfur River for the first time today and found some great (to me) stuff. Some help with identification would be appreciated. The bones. I didn't expect to find this many bones. Can anyone tell what kind of femur that is? It's short, but very hefty. And it's flat, not round like a human femur. Standing on edge in this photo, you can see how flat it is. BudB
The tooth. I'd liked to have found a mozasaur or shark tooth. I found a horse tooth instead. LOL. Anyone know what it really is? And what is that fossil it's leaning on. A crinoid? Edited April 4, 2020 by BudB Changed photo links to imgur
BudB
Anyone know what kind of fossils are in these rocks? One of the rocks has fossils on the other side too. Edited April 4, 2020 by BudB Changed photo links to imgur
BudB
And what is this? That pattern tells me it's some kind of fossil. Edited April 4, 2020 by BudB Changed photo links to imgur

Harry Pristis
It is an osteoderm from the imbricating band of a modern, nine-banded armadillo (Dasypus novemcinctus). The smaller examples below are from the nine-banded, the larger are from the extinct Dasypus bellus. http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest

BudB
It's google photos. Guess you may have to be logged in to google. Sheesh. I'll upload to imgur.
Fossildude19
It would be better if you could upload them directly here. Imgur links expire, and the photos are then lost, rendering the post useless.. Here, they will remain for posterity, and others' enlightenment. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." ClearLake
Your big bone looks to be a cow radius. The tooth could be from a cow too.
BobWill
The fossils after the tooth are rudist clams. There are fossils on both sides because they grow in colonies.

BudB
I wonder what this long, thin bone could be. It has a groove on the unbroken side. Hard to identify bones if you only have a fragment, I guess.
BudB
Wow, looks like some of what I thought was petrified wood is actually mozasaur bone. Thanks for all the NSR posts here. Much to be learned for a rookie like me.
