Another find in the Manasquan River. Seems to look like a rib bone of sorts? Any ideas?

@jonnyquest I also thought that. Looked like a teacup handle or something. It is ultra smooth. Probably what it is but even so, seems old!

Hi, you never know what you'll find in the streams. I keep everything that seems odd and have fun later trying to find out what it is. I found a theropod toe bone and basically just stuck it in my pocket thinking it was just something from maybe a deer.

I've also found pottery shards and keep them as curiosities.  Can't wait to hunt the streams again real soon. Peace-

@Fishinfossil, can you please show us the close up view of both broken ends? I'm no expert but it might help us tell if it's a fossilized bone or a piece of pottery.

I think that this is fossil material. This has the same look as most of the invertebrate material from the Manasquan Formation.
