It has the shape of a talon or beak, but I think it is just an oddly shaped rock.  A view of the non-pointed end could convince me otherwise, but that is my guess at the moment.

It's just an oddly-shaped rock, 'Gail.  Show us your other Sulphur River finds.  I see you did while I was typing.  The left object is a chip of mastodon enamel and the right object is likely to be a section of a shrimp burrow.

Yes, it does.  Convinces me even more that it is a small rock, possibly a piece of chert.  I don't see anything that looks like bone texture, just sedimentary rock. Your two new ones have the possibility of being bone or tooth.

Some very nice finds there!  I neglected to welcome you to the forum, glad you found it.  We love to look at items that folks have found, help ID them if needed or just look and enjoy the "prizes" that are out there.  That is a nice echinoid you have and I really like the arrowhead collection.

I think it's a small flint scraper. The delicate chipping workmanship along the edge tells me that it's not from the work of mother nature. Small flint scrapers were used to remove the bone marrow and it also have multi-purpose use, such as a small hide knife. I have a native American artifact book (Arrowheads & Stone Artifacts by C.G. Yeager) and somewhere in it described something a lot like this one. I took this book out while looking at this picture and I think it's definitely a scraper. Just to be sure, how big is it and also can you please show us the other side of this scraper?

Mmm. I thought they looked similar to egg shells, but I suppose it could be a scraper15863434995632770117400015380846.thumb.jpg.61c555b7f036162bfcce8a8f667abf06.jpgsome egg shells of reference

Probably not egg shell but hard to say for sure without seeing it in person. From the coloring and texture it looks to be Native American flint.
