Big enough to be mammoth/mastodon but there are also other large megafauna like giant ground sloths and even whales to consider so you'll never know for certain from just a fragment. If a piece has diagnostic features and is identifiable to a particular bone then you can be more certain but not all bone bits are possible to assign an identification with certainty.
