First try, not awful

Hey Preppers,

I was looking into beginners prep yesterday and found a good equipment survey on the nautiloid network, here's the link in case you might be interested. I tracked down a pin vise in the house and started picking away at this miocene clam I collected over the winter at the Topanga formation in Topanga canyon, CA. Picked off the sandstone and I think it looks a bit better this way :) Thanks for looking.

Good work. Patience and a steady hand are always a good mix for nice results.

And a fine link, too. That site is maintained by a good member here. :dinothumb:

I agree the webpage is a good insight on what tools are useful for good prepping purposes.  However, I do take issue with Ted's prep station. It is far too clean to have ever been used!  :heartylaugh:

Great job on the clam by the way.  My first was a small brachiopod from Tennessee.

Nice job. :)

I love pin-prepping.

Have been doing so much in lock-down that my fingers are sore, so having a day off today.

Yah. I’m with Doren, that has to be the “lab” that he shows visitors. :heartylaugh: Maybe it’s just because my lab looks like a quarry...

Nice first prep. You did a better job than I did on my first.
