lebaz03
Found this rock in Wisconsin US near Lake Michigan. At first I thought it was a collection of bones but looking closer I just don't know.
Pleuromya
I found a rock like this the other day. I'm guessing it could be bits of shells.
dhiggi
Most likely shells; fragments and cross sections. Clearer pictures with a ruler for scale will help identify them though
Ludwigia
Shell detritus, likely from bivalves and gastropods. 2 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/
Mark Kmiecik
Bits of shell, etc. This type of fossil is quite common along the lakeshore in Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan, along with other marine fossils. Most end up quite well worn because of wave action. Some can be cracked open to yield more detail. Unfortunately, most are of relatively poor quality, although some fairly good corals can be found. Google "petoskey stone", "halysites" and "favosites". This will give you an idea of patterns to keep your eyes open for. 2 Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
