JUNK or petrified wood/bone?

Hello first time poster.  Found as is (not encrusted or buried) along the Whiskey Bridge outcrop in Bryan, TX, along the Brazos river.  4cm in length, about 1.5-1.0cm in diameter.  Thought it was petrified wood but a hole at the cross section makes it look like a bone or antler?  Surface pattern looks like antler.  Has some weight to it and makes a rock like sound when put on a table or something.

That is a bit of an odd one. I think someone has taken a piece of antler and made a tool or knife or something out of it. That hole does not look natural to me.

Does the hole go all the way through? If it does I strongly suspect it’s a piece of a ancient whistle. They sometimes made them out of bone or antler.

That's not an antler.

I agree.  Do you have a better image of the third view above?

I had a similar suspicion.  I was hoping @jtangandgorditi1994 could provide additional photos of the "smooth" side bone texture.

Thanks all for the feedback so far!  As requested, here are some more pictures.  Let me know if they need to be clearer!

Thanks for the extra photos!  The bone texture suggests a fish spine to me.
