Unidentified Fossil

Series of tubes... maybe an insect colony??  A family member, who studied geology, left me their collection and I am trying to identify some of the fossils & minerals! Thank you!

It does look like it. :) Often very recently formed (within our lifetimes sometimes). Lovely specimen!
