Hunting from Home 2 - Oklahoma Permian!

I posted some of my finds from the Texas Permian in the Box of Matrix I got from PaleoTex LLC and now I get to share some of the cool little stuff I've found in the Oklahoma Permian!  Texas Permian had lots of sharks teeth, Amphibian teeth and interesting boney bits. The Oklahoma stuff is not nearly as "productive" as the Texas Red Bed matrix, but it has LOTS more complete bones and vertebrae! And some really nice little jaws with teeth!  Here are a few of my favorite finds. Most are about 1/4 inch, some smaller, a few a bit larger.

Amphibian Bolterpeton Jaw and teeth 1/4 inch

Unknown Amphibian Skull Fragment (the two round  knobs are where the vertebra attached) 1/4 inch

I am not completely sure. Since I got the bag from PaleoTex, they just said Oklahoma Permian, but the stuff I was finding seemed most similar to what is found at Richards Spur (info on the internet)

JL,

How much matrix total did it take to produce these finds?

This was all from a 3.5 lb bag.

Gotcha, I thought you meant you went out and collected this.  I think that company's stuff is coming from Richards Spur quarry

:)  That's why it's titled Hunting from Home and I mention the Box of Matrix I got from PaleoTex.  But yeah, I didn't specifically say the Oklahoma Matrix was also in a box i purchased from them.  So now that we are all clear......hahahhah! Have you done much collecting there? Are you familiar with the species found there?

Those are all so neat- it's fantastic how complete and identifiable the bones are.

OMG, I wish I could go there!  It's off limits to just about anybody whos not with a school, institution or museum.  I'm not sure how they are getting material.  They must have paid well for access.
