Hey everyone just wanted to check in with you all and see how you are doing. I also wanted to inquire about these Worm Borings/Concretions, and what our members consensus might be.

Maybe our resident concretion collector @Ruger9a would be able to help me out.

Anyway, here are the pictures:

Ironstone concretions for me.

Thanks for the input! Do we know of any explanation as to why they are so noodlelly?

I only took a few sections, but these appear to continue a ways into the bank.

Hmmm.

I put 'noodlelly concretions' into Google and came up with nothing.

'Noodly concretions' brought up :

So my answer is - not a clue.

Some concretions form around organic items -- Think long thin leaf, twig, root, etc. Wouldn't hurt to split one open.

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

Possibly an infilled borrow ?

That’s what I thought! There seems to be a lot of them, all around the same shape.

I split one open and this is what I was met with:

Assuming that it didn't split in a plane other than that in which the possible fossil lies, although yeah, it's more likely to split in the plane where something lies, so probably nothing.
