dinosaur man
I have a question, have any dinosaurs been found in Kothapalli, Maharashtra, India?
Jaimin013
The Lameta Formation is a sedimentary rock formation found in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, India. It is of Maastrichtian age (Upper Cretaceous). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lameta_Formation As such here are those found in Maharashtra that I've found from reading but this list is not comprehensive so there may be more: - Isisaurus (Isisaurus genus of dinosaur in the Lameta Formation of India were found near Warora in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra.) - Possibly Titanosaurus as this is from the Lameta Formation of India but can't remember specific location info on the known discoveries of Titanosaurus from India. Looking at the map below it seems that there have been discoveries of titanosaurs from Maharashtra. There are quite a few other known dinosaur fossil discoveries from Andhra Pradesh, Jabalpur, Telangana, Calcutta, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state so not state of Maharashtra. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Geologic_formations_of_India - Lists formations although may not be up to date http://www.walkthroughindia.com/offbeat/15-remains-of-dinosaurs-found-in-india/ - lists some dinosaurs although probably better to find information from a more reliable source. Here is a Geographical map from the book called 'Thunder-lizards: The Sauropodomorph Dinosaurs' showing important dinosaur fossil localities in India. Following this is a more detailed Geographical map of India.
