Compy
Hi Everybody, like I wrote in my last post, I got some new teeth shipped to me. :-) This one took me a while because the ID of the seller is possibly wrong (I don't think I tell you big news on this topic ;-) ). It was sold as a "Dromaeosaurus" from the Hell Creek Formation in Montana. Unfortunately no county was provided. I have read in several other posts in this forum about Dromaeosaurus that in the HCF this species didn't exist. This leads me to the question which raptor it is from? The length is approx. 2 cm and the width at the base roughly 1 cm. Unforunately I was not ably to identify any denticles, although it looks like there is a sharp line at one of the sides (labial side???). Troodon
Does not appear to be dinosaurian. Preservation not typical of what you see in the Hell Creek. Could be the crown of a shark tooth

Could be the crown of a shark tooth That was my first thought too. From the grains still attached to the tooth in the second picture my first thought was that it might be from the KemKem in Morocco and not from the HCF... Troodon
Yes KK would work and the sand on the crown is typical of that region.
Compy
This would make sharks more plausible also because of the environment back then. I will sift through the papers from KemKem then and look for similar tooth... HCF was not marine back then, was it?
Troodon
Try Otodus obliquus In the HC Lots of fresh water sharks and fish and a marine Croc

Indeed, it might be a broken tip of a O.o tooth... Your knowledge about teeth is amazing!
jpc
I agree with troodon... this is neither dinosaurian nor Hell Creek.
