Need help!! No clue on what this is or could be.

I found this right above the coal seam in black shale. It is approximately 4 1/2-5 inches, 1 inch at the base and a 1/4 inch at the point. It is a 1/4 in thick. I am completely lost on what it could be.

They can be contemporary in age, if that is what you mean.  :headscratch:

Did you find it near an edestus shark tooth?

Carboniferous nautiloids with that ribbing are often loosely named "Cycloceras" - it'll bring up some similar images anyway. Nice specimen. :)

The last two pictures are of Edestus jaws, which was a large shark that lived during the Carboniferous. They are very rare, especially in complete form like the one jaw that you have. It is an incredibly wonderful find!

I find these just walking around at work. These are just the biggest ones I have found. I think I have found at least a hundred and broke that many trying to get them out
