A month or so ago I found these while trout fishing in a creek in the lower Champlain valley. I have no idea what they are, so any info would be very helpful. They were from Ordovician rock that was pretty barren except for a few brachiopods.

Maybe a bit big for ostracods.

Is it possible they might be weirdly shaped Bryozoa? They have a bumpy texture to them.

there are some large ostracods in the Ordovician of KY, some the size of a small fingernail.

Hard to tell from the picture, but maybe Praspora, the bryozoan. I have a collection of those I found near Port Henry.

They might be parts of the shells of lingulid brachiopods, When I was up there I found a large amount of those in shale and they looked like that on the underside of the reflective crossection.
