Happy with my shark spine

Hi everyone :),

Just thought I’d like to share this find I made recently. It’s a nice. Hybodont cf. hybodus shark spine from the Rhaetic, Westbury Formation of England. It measures about 12cm. Took about 30mins to an hour extraction and about three hours repair so far. Still haven’t fully repaired it yet. It’s like a jigsaw without the cover:headscratch:! Biggest one I’ve ever found! :D

Opalised fossils are the best: a wonderful mix between paleontology and mineralogy!

Q. Where do dinosaurs study?

A. At Khaan Academy!...

Thank you though I wouldn’t exactly call it prep :D. They are from Blue Anchor which is similar to Aust.

Wonderful finds! :)

Nice prepping and repair job too.

Blue Anchor was only 20 miles from where I was born and lived for my first eight years on this lovely planet.( Bridgwater, not so lovely, though I was happy there).

I spent most of my early fossil collecting days at Blue Anchor, Kilve, Watchett, Hinkley Point...........Happy Days!

Thank you :)! I’ve been to Lilstock beach which is near Hinkley point once but I only brought back 1 shale ammonite and left a calcite one and some bivalves on the beach.
