Marks on a dino bone

Hi,

 

I have this piece of titanosaurid femur:

 

 

There are big depressions:

 

 

 

and it is covered with scratches:

 

 

do you know if it is erosion, scavenging .. ?

It is always a little difficult to tell in photos. I don't know about the larger depressions because I can't see them very well. It does look like something was gnawing on it. I took the liberty of outlining a few of of the marks on this photo.

Predation is always a very difficult call.   All the scratches and depressions could have been made in the violent process of getting this bone to the condition its in missing both ends.  Just not sure

Only the depressions are fairly convincing. The scratches don't look like predation to me. The scratches just look like natural bone structure and damage from time.
