Fossil with dendritic patterns.

Hello, I found this fossil in Northamptonshire, UK, which is Jurassic. I'd guess belemnite, but I'm not certain. One photo shows the fossil impression.

The scale is in centimetres. Thanks.

Can you please show a shot from the left side of the object, top. I'm pretty sure that this is not a belemnite, rather a matter of mineral staining.

Sorry for the late reply. You're probably correct, I'll get a photo from the side as soon as I can find it.

Sorry about that. Here it is. I tried to have the sun shine on it, but my shadow blocked it.

It does seem to widen out, so it's probably not a belemnite.

That's strange, I posted the pictures right on the forum.

It's a shell with borings of some sort. You do see that sort of trace in belemnites but there's not enough of this visible to say what it is.

These ones don't work. I can see the pics on the 1st post.

Sorry for the late reply. That's strange, I tried attaching them to this, but the photos have disappeared.

I can't see them either. :( Are you uploading from a Google image drive rather than directly from your device? If so, the Forum software doesn't cooperate well with it. Your initial images seem to appear just fine, but none of your followup ones.
