Claire B
Feels heavy and appears to be in two halves? Round in shape
Rob Russell
Hi Claire. Unfortunately, your camera focused on your table. Opposed to your specimen. Any chance of getting a in focus picture? You have a interesting looking piece there. I’m sure someone can help you out with better pics. Finding my way through life; one fossil at a time. FossilDAWG
Very confusing! There is no way it is the same object in the 2 photos. The second is certainly a concretion, and it is likely the first is as well (but a different concretion). Sometimes these form with a fossil at the center, but usually whatever nucleated the concretion to form is not apparent. The "seam" around the first one suggests it may split open fairly easily with a (gentle) tap or two with a hammer. The second I would leave as is personally.
