Hipockets
I found this steinkern in the Maastrichtian, Peedee Form. of SE North Carolina. It is 5 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide. Any ideas ? Thanks
Ludwigia
I'd say that's part of a Baculites. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/
Hipockets
I am not familiar with any baculites from the peedee formation with simple sutures. Only ones I have seen have more complex sutures or "rib feature"so to speak. It appears to be full of matrix all the way through, as though it was hollow. Hipockets
After looking over the steinkern again , I found an area that has what appears to be the remnants of "rods" texture, like a rudist ?
Hipockets
This was posted last year by Heteromorph from the Edwards Form. in Texas. Doesn't this look very similar. This was determined to be rudist.
