Insect Wing Fossil

My 7 year old rockhound son found this rock after I tilled up my garden bed and he’s convinced it has a fossil or two in it. After looking at it with him, I agree but honestly I’m not very knowledgeable in this area. I’m hoping some of you experts might be able to help him ID them if they are fossils. We live in The Uintah Basin, UT where lots of dinosaur bones have been found. Thank you for looking!

Welcome to the forum! The top object in the first picture appears to be a fenestrate bryozoan. The rock looks like marine limestone, so you wouldn't expect to find insect wings there. Tell your son nice finds!

It's not an insect wing but it is a fossil, a colonial marine animal called a bryozoan.

Thank you so much! You all just made my son’s day. Now we’re going to research bryozoans!

These little guys were onto the layout for Salt Lake City long before there was even a salt lake. :)
