Past Hunter
We are on vacation at Atlantic beach NC. My wife and l went shell collecting and I just happened to find these. I recognize the ray mouth plate but I'm drawing a blank on the other, dolphin or fish? 2 "If you choose not to decide. PaleoNoel
I believe it's a dolphin digit (from the paddle/flipper), cool find! I don't see them on here too regularly despite many people finding their teeth and vertebrae.
Rockwood
The top one is a section of tooth plate from an eagle ray (myliobatid).
abyssunder
I think, the mouth plate belongs to an Aetobatidae. 2 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way. Even though it is broken and rather worn, I agree it is Aetobatidae. 2 Bulldozers and dirt Bulldozers and dirt behind the trailer, my desert Them red clay piles are heaven on earth I get my rocks off, bulldozers and dirt Patterson Hood; Drive-By Truckers May 2016 May 2012 Aug 2013, May 2016, Apr 2020 Oct 2022

I think the reason we do not see more on here is because many people do not know what they are and may just leave them laying there.

Past Hunter
Thanks Don, I wasn't sure. It's funny I have searched this beach for years with no success and found these things within feet of each other. "If you choose not to decide.
