Oreodont Merycoidodon Teeth

Recommended Posts

Hi there, guys.
So, I got these from an internet auction. It's the first time I put my hands on this kind of piece. It doesn't "feel" fake or nothing, but I just want to be sure, so I thought I'd better get an expert opinion.
What do you think?
It's supposed to be Merycoidodon culbertsoni, from the Oligocene of  South Dakota Badlands.

They look good to me. They match up to my specimens. These are so common I don’t think they are faked very often.and for the most part they look like good specimens

Yes, appear correct, regarding creature, time period and location.

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, also are remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. - Douglas Adams, Last Chance to See

They are real.  Faking them would not be cost effective as they are so numerous.  Nice buy.
