Hey my friends in the US of A.  If you are bored on the evening of June 17th...

https://www.nexttv.com/news/prehistoric-road-trip-on-pbs-june-17

Watch the preview here... I am the guy who answers "How do you know it's a dinosaur bone?"

The hat is form the Coirn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota.

I have not seen the final production, but we had a great time filming this.

Enjoy.

What do dinosaur bones taste like? Chicken? :P

Very cool JPC! I'll definitely tune to PBS on the 17th! As a matter of fact... Here I go to set the DVR so I don't miss it. :)

Do you know if there will be a way to watch it online? We don’t have cable.

You were having way too much fun playing in the plaster.  Let us know when you find a ' turtle tooth'...you were great.  :)

Nice hat! I just watched the show tonight, not knowing you were part of it. When they got to your segment, I yelled to my wife, "I know that guy!"  You were great, and I enjoyed seeing the Tate Museum. Massachusetts sends it's regards.

Start the day with a smile and get it over with.

Just caught it. Good program... My only complaint is, I don't know why they couldn't give some closeups of the small fossils such as that fish at Bear Gulch.

Fun to see one of our own on the TV. Looking forward to the next episode.

When is that? Is it still fossil related and is JPC in it again?

Next Wed.. same time and... yes.  We had a lot of fun filming it.  Emily is really good at making regular folks feel relaxed in front of the camera.

Yes, I agree that they should have showed a closer view of some of the finds.  But I really liked the animations they did.  Simple and understandable.  Not overly CGIed like you see in many such shows.

For those who missed it, it is veiwable here until July 15th.

I thought the same thing. Would have been nice to see a close-up of a falcatus or some of the other early sharks found in the area. Really good episode otherwise.

That was lovely!

Emily's infections enthusiasm always works wonders for making these topics fun and engaging. The show really shows a nice variety of locations and the fossils in them. Great attention to detail for showing the process too. And of course fun to see @jpc on that Morrison dig.

Pickles the dog was clearly the highlight of the episode though.

I also love that sign "Pterosaur Ptracks" in Tate Museum.

Good show.  I really liked the taphonomy research.  Looks like there are only 3 episodes?  Beggars can't be choosers i guess :).

Good to see JPC and put a face to a name. Good job.

Yes, the animations were good. So many times in books I've seen that diagram of how stromatolites were formed, but this had to be the first time I've seen it animated!
